INTRODUCTION

I have been playing drums and other percussion instruments for 33 years now. My experience ranges from professional kit drumming (Korgis / Defendants), via senior string orchestra and brass band work, to hammering litter bins!

A large part of my working life involves introducing young people to African rhythms and the idea of Junk Percussion. I combine regular weekly sessions (such as those at Southwell Minster and Elliot Durham Education Action Zone) with one-off, one-day workshops in the community or in school / youth group settings. In the case of African drumming, I provide the instruments.

My workshop delivery is underpinned by my knowledge of factors such as visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning, and emphasis on inclusion.

I also provide individual tuition in a home or studio environment.

I possess public liability insurance through Norwich Union, and a current enhanced disclosure.
